My recent Viking River Cruise of the Christmas Markets in Germany was preceded by three days in Prague. This cosmopolitan city was packed with professionals shopping downtown like the cities in the US were in a past generation. The combination of an old city including a vast Jewish quarter and castles and cathedrals, combined with the new city of modern malls, street vendors, and restaurants was a pleasant surprise.
Enjoying nice dinners, lovely accommodations, and the slow pace on Viking’s cruise gave me knowledge on a fast growing market in the travel world. Everyone wants to take a river cruise now. You can tour castles, museums, such as the first Bible printed by Gutenberg, wineries, and the world of Hitler.
Completing three nights in Paris with views of the Eiffel Tower, trips to see a mass at Notre Dame, tours of the Louvre, and a city bus tour, left nothing to be desired but another river cruise.
